Columbus, Ohio Travel Photographer: The Bahamas

Even though it's been almost a month since we left for our Bahamas cruise, I thought I better post a least a few pics from the trip. The trip was wonderful and relaxing, but I had to come home to the chaos of everyday life (and freezing temperatures) the day we returned. Bummer! But, going back and looking at the photos makes me imagine a calmer place and I can't wait until our voyage on Oasis of the Seas next year!!! I'm sure to have some AMAZING pics from that ship. As for this trip, it sounds odd, but I really didn't take too many pictures because there wasn't too much to see. I know... it's the Bahamas, right? But, honestly, they're not too scenic if you're not right on the ocean.

So, first we stayed two nights in Orlando, which was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Here's our view of the gigantic pool which we spent some time in at the hotel. Ahhhh...
Our first full day in Florida was spent at Disney's Magic Kingdom. I'll admit I was a little unenthused about spending the day there, but it was probably the most fun we had on the whole trip!!! All the rides are just so creative and innovative. We spent over 12 hours at the park!
That same day, we took an afternoon break since it was getting overly crowded, and as you can see, the skies were getting a little looming. We headed down the road to the Titanic exhibit. Titanic is one of our favorite historic stories and we always love learning more about it. The museum had replicas of different rooms on board the ship. Here's a dining/lounge area.
And my favorite - the Grand Staircase!! Fun Fact: our cruise ship next year - Oasis of the Seas is five TIMES the size of Titanic!!
Our museum ticket had the name of a passenger on it, and towards the end of the tour we had to find our "name" on the list of all the passengers. I (Miss Kate Murphy) survived! And so did Adam's person. What's the luck of that?
After our two days in Orlando (with an amazing dinner at Tony Roma's) we boarded our ship the Carnival Sensation, pictured here at sunset.
Carnival is known for their big whale tail smokestacks and the water slides, which after my day-two sunburn, I could not bear to ride down on my back.

Our first excursion in Freeport was kayaking through mangrove swamps in the middle of nowhere. It was just us and another couple with our guides, about 45 minutes from the ship on the other side of the island. We are adventurous!!

I will have to say that they took us to the most BEAUTIFUL beach I've ever seen after our kayaking adventure. There was no one around but us and....
...Mr. Raccoon! How cute is he?? Usually they're pretty fat and dirty looking in the States, but in the Bahamas, they might as well be a pet. I've never seen one stand on two legs!! This may have been the most fascinating part of our trip!
We survived and made it back to the ship that night. You can see our tanned/burned faces. Photoshopping helped a little!
The next day we went on a snorkel adventure. Then we had free time to discover the city of Naussau. Tip - go to Paradise Island instead. Not much to see here except a bunch of run down pink buildings and locals who want to con money out of you.
This pup/coyote/hyena was running around the streets and my hubby didn't care too much for me trying to lure him over. Hehe!
Our last day was spent at sea. I got a pedicure, we played putt putt, and relaxed. The next day we returned to Orlando, we slept in the hotel for most of the afternoon, laid by the pool, and had another delicious dinner at Tony Roma's. Then, it was time to head home. Hope you enjoyed the pics!
