Columbus, Ohio Photographer: What Have I Been Up To?

Hi Blog Friends! Long time... Just wanted to post an update and a few photos. I've been keeping myself extremely busy over the winter and I'm really, truly hoping Spring will be here soon so I can be busy with photo stuff instead of indoor stuff.

A few things I've been up to:
- Remodeling my home. My husband has taken on the task of tiling the floor of our laundry room and now kitchen (from which I can hear pounding and drilling in the background as I type). We are prepping the kitchen flooring so that we can get our new carpet installed for the entire house. Also, (if we're not entirely too exhausted) we plan to paint our bedroom and later this summer get a matching bedroom set. And, last week, we had our new front door and storm door installed. Check it out! My boys love their new "bark door."

- Training for a half marathon. Yes, that is correct. My friends and clients would probably recognize that I don't quite have the figure of a runner, but you better believe I will be able to run 13 miles by May 1st. Got to 7.5 miles - no problem - today!
- Starting a new quarter teaching college classes - 5 total! - this quarter. I'm super thrilled to be teaching speech again. I promise I'm going to go light this summer to make time for all the wedding/family/baby photo sessions. :)
- Accepted a volunteer job as Case Manager for an organization I belong to. I have already found that it's going to keep me on my toes!
- Returning from my "spring break" trip. And it truly was a break - a much needed one! Here are some of the pics from my adventure. My sister and I flew down to Florida to pick up my grandparents' car so they could fly back home to Ohio for the spring.

Don't worry, we had time to have fun. We went to both Universal Studios theme parks in one day (exhausting!) and the next day we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). My favorite attraction was the American Idol Experience show! Completely awesome and so realistic!!!

Another favorite was the Aerosmith roller coaster (we rode twice).

But, the main event was the Tower of Terror Hotel, which might be the best ride EVER invented!! We rode this 3 times, until my sister finally said, "No more."

Gotta have the Mickey ears when you're at Disney!

My cute grandparents. Grandma made us a homemade dinner every night!

On our drive home we had to make the trip interesting, so I found some roadside attractions. Ashburn, Georgia is home to the world's largest peanut.

Marietta, Georgia is home to KFC's biggest chicken (thanks Jim!)

And, we stopped in Chattanooga, Tennessee to visit Lookout Mountain and hike through underground caves to Ruby Falls. So beautiful and awe inspiring thousands of feet underground!!

The view from the top of Lookout Mountain.

Up and coming...
- I'm really going to re-vamp my blog and website once I figure out the technical aspects of it.
- Lots of baby, children, and wedding pics coming this year!

Bring on the sunshine!

Dayton, Ohio Newborn Photographer: Birth Announcement Designs

So many babies, so little time... Already there have been two Harrington Photography newborns in 2010 (conrats to Kaitlyn's and Keegan's families) and I'm anticipating quite a few more before the year's over. You'll see more of the two newborns and get to watch them grow up over the next year, too.

Anyway, both of the families asked me to design birth announcements, which I was more than excited to do. I had these done weeks ago, but wanted to give the parents time to mail them to loved ones before revealing them on the blog. Enjoy!

I can create two different styles of announcements - press printed and photo card. Kaitlyn's family chose the press printed card, which is on a thicker, card-stock style paper and is two sided (we carry the theme over on the back). Check out their polka-dot themed two-sided annoucement!

Keegan's parents chose the photo card which is printed on high quality photo paper just like a photograph! Lighter weight and more economical.

Both clients provided their input on information they wanted included, design style, color, size, and more!! I love merging a clients' vision with my own to create something unique.

Birth announcements have special packaging prices when coupled with a package of Baby's First Year Sessions! Send me an email for more information at sheri@harringtonphotos.net.
