Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!

I am super excited for this post! I have two purposes in writing: First and foremost, to thank everyone who has supported me in my first year of business. I appreciate all that my clients, friends, family, and hubby have done to help me get my business off the ground in the first year. THANK YOU so much! I have met so many great people, friends, instructors, and mentors along the way. I am so grateful for all I've learned from everyone. But, I still have so much more ahead of me! To think, it all started with my birthday gift from Adam last January - a little website called Harrington Photos built from the ground up, with lots of love...

Secondly, I want to let you know a little bit about where I'm headed in 2009. My first new investment/change for the year is to present all my clients with slide shows of their images, set to music. As I've said before, I love to tell stories through photography, and that's what I plan to do for each and every client. So, I'm super excited to give a sneak preview of the slideshow (that clients have the opportunity to purchase on DVD) and I have combined that with a 2008 Thank You Tribute to all my previous clients. I am so awed and humbled watching this slideshow and remembering all that I was able to accomplish this year. Wow! Go me! :)

Turn your volume up... turn my John Mayer music off, and enjoy the show!

So, what did you think? I'm so excited about putting my first official slideshow together for a client this weekend. It's going to be beautiful!

In other news, I recently started a group/page/store (whatever they call it!) on Facebook. Click here to check out the Harrington Photography page and become a fan if you're not one already! Facebook is so much fun! I haven't gotten into the MySpace, Twitter, or Flickr thing yet, but maybe some day! It's a lot to keep up with.

And in final news, just around the bend I will be re-vamping my blog and website, too. They are both in need of a new look for the new year. I've been working on a new blog banner, but I just need to get caught up on all my photo editing and I'll be ready to unveil it soon. My goal is by Feb. 1. I'm really looking forward to all that's to come this year! I hope you enjoy it all!

Shayla and Rahman: Part II

I am just love, love, LOVE-ing these photos. The New Year's Eve wedding was so romantic, intimate, and PERFECT! I love the colors, flowers, decorations, lighting... everything was so nicely coordinated! I know Shayla and Rahman are getting back from their exotic honeymoon here soon, so I wanted to get these posted for them to return to. The rest of the photos are almost done!! I've been working hard all week! Enjoy!

Rahman's GQ Cover Shot (thanks to his Dad's studio lighting)

Shayla should be a model... she knows how to work it!

I love the lighting in this shot from the ceremony.

I really like this angle. We'll call it a happy accident.

I love the random posing for large wedding parties... it just works for me!

A Very Harrington Holiday

I've been keeping very busy through Christmas and New Year's, so I've finally had a chance to post a few photos from MY family Christmas. Thought I would share a little bit about myself with everyone. Every year, it's tradition that we start off on Christmas Eve with my mother's side of the family. And, as with tradition, we do all the posed family portraits in front of the fireplace.

All of my grandparents' children were here this year (Diane, Jim, Rita, Bill, Sue (mom), Mary, Bill (grandpa), Virginia (grandma), and Barb.

Somehow, someone managed to get a shot of my hubby Adam and me.....and... this is why I like to stay behind the camera. :)

I also tried some less traditional shots (moving away from the fireplace) with my bokeh filter in front of the tree - Mark and Mary.

And, my aunt also wanted a nice photo for her mother-in-law - Rita and Bob.

So, that was Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day we went to my father's side. My cousin's son Parker was the cutest thing. We haven't had a kid around at Christmas for a while now, so he was quite entertaining. Apparently he wasn't such a good boy for his 18 month photo session a while back, but he sure was hamming it up for me! I had to get some good shots for them to have.

Apparently Parker is a little photographer, too.

I also managed to catch a cute family portrait for Becky, Darin, and Parker.

How adorable. He was peeking out at me from behind the curtains. Totally flirting with the camera!

Finally, I put a little Parker collage together for my family. We thought it would be cute to put him in this giant stocking. He thought it was cute too for about 10 seconds... luckily that's what I captured. :)

We also spent time with Adam's side of the family, visiting his grandmother's home on Christmas Eve and his parents' home on Christmas evening. I think by the time I got there, even I was ready to put the camera away and kick back and relax... It all went by in a whirlwind.

Enjoy the little bit of holiday that is still around! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year: Shayla & Rahman Preview

Happy New Year everyone! 2008 was great, but I'm ready for a new year! Shayla and Rahman knew how to kick off 2009 right... with a wedding! Here is a sneak peek for them before they head off on their African honeymoon in the morning. Just a few of my favorite shots from the wedding preparation... more to come! Enjoy!

I had such a blast shooting this wedding. Shayla is a good friend of mine so it was great to already know her style. She was so glam! Love how the pictures are turning out.

All of her jewlery was beautiful.

The lucky groom getting ready.

Being silly with some angel wings he found in the groom's room. (Sorry, had to post this Rahman!)

My favorite so far of Shayla... next top model pose! I love the attitude!

Don't they look so beautiful!?

My favorite picture so far! Although I have a lot more to go through...) I'm even impressed with my cute posing idea!
