Dayton, Ohio Photographer: Sophie's First Year

This weekend I made a trip down to Lebanon, Ohio to pick up where we left off on "Sophie's Story." Sophie's first year is almost through!!! I can't believe it. This weekend was her 10 month photo session. Next up is her first birthday party!!! I can't wait. WOW, how she's grown since I last took photos for her Baptism in March. She's all over the place crawling, starting to walk, talking, smiling, and giggling. As soon as I got to their house, she hopped right on her pink rocking horse for me.

Then it was on to her little car/truck toy.

Once she was done with the toys she kept trying to peek out the window at the dogs. She could just BARELY peek over the edge. What a cute smile with those little teeth-ers coming in!

Mom and Dad, Beth and Chris, wanted to get a few family photos in soon before they become a family of four in January!!! Yay!! I'm excited to start a new photo story! What a cute family portrait on the porch of their new (awesome) home.

What a ham!!

One of my favorite shots was a kiss from Daddy.

I was so surprised about how fearless this little girl was! She just LOVED the swings and slide. How cute is she??

Beth and Chris - Sophie is just the CUTEST!! I was so happy to spend the afternoon with you three! Hope you love her pictures!!

Columbus, Ohio Photographer: My Boys

This weekend my husband and I (well, mostly my husband) took on a major landscaping project in our backyard. He did the bed-shaping, de-sodding, trimming, and digging. I did the designing, purchasing, dictating, and planting. :) Once we were done with the project Sunday night I thought it would be a great time for some pictures of my boys in our nice yard. I also took the chance to capture some of the summertime beauty in my own backyard - those photos to come in a future post.

My boy Brutus is completely OBSESSED with playing frisbee. He never lets it hit the ground. I think we threw frisbee constantly all day on Saturday in between digging and planting.

My other boy Tyson - aka. Tator Tots, Tadurs, and Tots - is never unwilling to pose for a photo for me. He even loves to put on his smile - so photogenic! He's posing in front of the new landscape bed that he's not allowed to sniff, pee, or dig in.

Probably my favorite capture all day with my other boy - hubby/assistant, Adam! Caught that very rare "moochie" that Tots sometimes likes to give when he thinks no one is looking! Caught ya!

Two handsome guys!

Brutus likes to do his own thing...

Ahh... yes, his best friend, the frisbee.

And to leave you with a sneak preview of my next post... photos of the beautiful flowers in my yard this summer and the great shots my new lens can pull off! This looks to me like a computer desktop background, and hence it now is on my laptop!

Ever looked at a purple cone flower THISCLOSE? Although my 24-70mm is not a macro lens, it takes pretty rockin' "macro" shots!

Columbus, Ohio Photographer: Zachary's Portraits

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing little Zachary. We paid his family a visit over in their new neighborhood in Apple Valley - a quiet, peaceful lake resort community. Have to admit - Adam and I would love to move out to the country and leave the city behind, but our work keeps us here for now. :) We are still semi-country in the outskirts of Delaware, I suppose. We started the afternoon with a few shots at their new home. Zach (and their dog Buster) seemed to know that I wanted their pictures so they did their best to avoid the camera, but I think it still made for some very cute photos.

Buster can see me from across the porch with my zoom lens and just knows not to look that way! :)

I thought this pose Zach made on his own was just so cute...

Next we went to the playground on the lake's beach. Zach finally worked up the courage to slide (and climb the slide) by himself. I was able to catch quite a few genuine smiles here.

So precious - daddy pushing him on the big kid swing.

Awww... there's that handsome smile!

Thanks for the fun day Mike, Julie, Zach, and Buster!!
