Towards the end of 2011 I was also busy designing some Thank You cards from Oliver's first birthday party. I think they turned out really cute and I love Ollie's sly little glance in the pic. I hope all the guests enjoyed receiving them and now have a nice keepsake from the day!

Welcome 2012! I'm looking forward to what you have in store! I'm finally getting caught up left over to-do list items from 2011. One of them was to post a few remaining blog updates. This is old news for some, but for many clients it may be new! Last year, my clients Stephanie and Courtney got to become superstars! My photo of them from our 2010 session was published in an ad for Colief (colic relief medication for babies). So far, their photo was used in an ad designed by the marketing company for an online "Parents" Magazine ad. It was also printed in the October and November 2011 editions of "American Baby" Magazine. In addition, it appeared in "Contemporary Pediatrics" Journal's October 2011 edition. We were all so very excited about this awesome opportunity! Hopefully it will open the doorway for more in the future!

I worked on quite a few design projects over the holidays. I'm trying now to catch up on posts as much as possible before 2012. Here is a sneak peek of Lydia and Derek's Storybook Wedding Album! It includes their wedding colors, at their request! And, it turned out JUST BEAUTIFUL! I'm using a new album style, and they were the first to get upgraded to the new style. I'm so happy with how it turned out, and cannot wait to order more in 2012.

Shortly after Erika and Kevin's wedding, they contacted me with an awesome idea!! They wanted me to design custom thank-you cards to send to their friends and family. I will admit - this is something I never thought about doing. I've done Save the Date and holiday cards, but this was a great, new idea that I plan to tell all my future brides and grooms about! (Thanks for the idea, you two!)

Hello 2011!!! I hope all my friends, family, and clients had a WONDERFUL holiday season! I can't believe it came and went so quickly... it was JUST Halloween! I enjoyed a well-deserved (in my opinion) holiday break from work. But, now I think it's time to get back to work! Keep checking my blog for new things to come for 2011. I will be launching a new program for clients soon, have tons of photos to review from 2010, will be updating my website, and I have lots of pics from my holidays to share with you! And, of course, plenty of upcoming portrait sessions for you to enjoy.

To begin, check out the revamped blog... you like? I always struggle to work with the pre-set Blogger templates, so this is what I could do with it and my lack of knowledge of html code. I'm happy with the change for now.

Columbus, Ohio Photographer: Another Reason I Love My Job...

One of my favorite things as a photographer is when I go into a client's home and see my photos hanging on the wall or framed on a shelf. Beth and Chris' home was no exception. I'll admit, sometimes I even surprise myself. I'll look at the pictures (which look even BETTER when framed), and say, "Oh wow, I took that?" Hehe! I try to stay humble. :)

Dayton, Ohio Newborn Photographer: Birth Announcement Designs

So many babies, so little time... Already there have been two Harrington Photography newborns in 2010 (conrats to Kaitlyn's and Keegan's families) and I'm anticipating quite a few more before the year's over. You'll see more of the two newborns and get to watch them grow up over the next year, too.

Anyway, both of the families asked me to design birth announcements, which I was more than excited to do. I had these done weeks ago, but wanted to give the parents time to mail them to loved ones before revealing them on the blog. Enjoy!

I can create two different styles of announcements - press printed and photo card. Kaitlyn's family chose the press printed card, which is on a thicker, card-stock style paper and is two sided (we carry the theme over on the back). Check out their polka-dot themed two-sided annoucement!


Keegan's parents chose the photo card which is printed on high quality photo paper just like a photograph! Lighter weight and more economical.

Both clients provided their input on information they wanted included, design style, color, size, and more!! I love merging a clients' vision with my own to create something unique.

Delaware, Ohio Photographer: Happy Holidays!!

I wanted to take a moment to wish all my clients from 2009 a Happy Holiday! I was taking a moment to reflect back on 2009 and realized that I had 30 special clients last year (half of which I think I worked with in the last 3 months!)! That just amazes me and makes me SO happy! I love you all for all you have done over the past year to help me grow my business exponentially. And to imagine that this is a part-time gig! I can only hope that 2010 is just as awesome as this past year.

I truly hope more weddings, families, puppies, and babies are in my photographing future!! Happy Holidays from the Harrington Family! See you next year!

I've been working super hard on the new site since the beginning of 2009. I want to thank my wonderful husband, Adam, for all his work on my starter site that he built from scratch last year to help get the business rolling. It served a great purpose and I appreciate that, but now it was time for an upgrade because we are moving on to bigger and better things!

Next up...

New address labels and brand labels are here. Now any packaging you receive from Harrington Photography will have its own brand label on it! I'm excited to be rolling those out. Can't wait to use my first one!



And finally...
