Columbus, Ohio Children's Photographer: Meet Baby Rahman!

I have been waiting a long time to meet this little guy. My friend Shayla had been e-mailing me her pictures of him and I instantly loved his little smile, big eyes, and poofy hair. :) And, today, I finally got to meet the little 3-month old Rahman Amari, or "Deuce" or "Amari" or "Rahman Jr." or whatever you want to call him. :)
Shayla and I have been friends since I moved to Columbus and we worked together. You may remember way back when, I took Shayla and (big) Rahman's engagement pictures. Gosh, that may have even been before I kept this blog! Then, I photographed their wedding on New Year's Eve several years ago. And here we are today, with their adorable little family.

Dayton, Ohio Children's Photographer: "A" Family Grandkids

Last summer I had the pleasure of taking Logan's portraits with his Grandma Cindy. Since then, Logan has become a big brother and a big cousin. Cindy wanted to get all her grandkids together for family photos. And, she could not have more adorable grandsons!!! They are all so cute and smiley!

Cindy is an AWESOME client. She has all kinds of great ideas for shots, and has the cutest outfits and props ready to go. She makes my job way too easy! :)

Looking back I realize how much Logan has grown over the last year! He still is great at posing for me! Here, he was helping me "test the lighting."

Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photographer: Connie and Brian Tie the Knot - Part II

Their cake from The Suisse Shop Bakery was awesome! It looked perfect! And I loved the New Orleans colors and theme.
First dance as husband and wife. They are SO into each other. I LOVE it!

They had live music all night from The Floorwalkers. They are an AMAZING live band, and you should definitely check them out sometime in Columbus. Very nice guys, too!


Brian's mom (in fact all the guests and family) enjoyed dancing all night. And they've got SKILLS! :)

Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photographer: Connie and Brian Tie the Knot - Part I

Last night we got to share in the special evening when Connie and Brian said "I do." The main thing that sticks out in my mind is how in love these two are. From their precious vows to their romantic first dance to the look in their eyes the entire night... you can tell these two were destined to be together!

I was excited to have our first Columbus wedding. Yes, I live in Columbus, and have shot many weddings in Dayton, Cincinnati, and even Cleveland, but not yet in Columbus! It was nice to drive right home at the end of the night. Alas, I was so excited I was up until 2am editing! So, Connie and Brian- I hope you enjoy the pics so far! Here is a preview of the wedding.

The wedding and reception took place at the Athenaeum, which is a really cool old building. Gina, the coordinator for their wedding, did a knock-out job!












The groom awaiting his bride and thanks to Adam for capturing Connie and her father coming up the aisle. It was sweet how touched everyone was by this moment!
Their officiant, Jason, was phenomenal to work with too. He always kept me informed, was very professional, and added humor to the ceremony during some of the perfect imperfect moments! :)

Columbus, Ohio Photographer: Backyard Beauty - Butterfly

I was inspired to do a "just for fun" post tonight. I've been working on finishing up wedding images this week, so thought I'd take a minute to post something I've always enjoyed - nature photos. I was out working in my yard, dead-heading my rose bushes when my neighbor called me over to see the GIANT butterfly on her butterfly bush. She was trying to get a good picture, so I volunteered to bring my zoom lens over. The butterfly seemed to like the attention and posed for me. Here are a few favorites!
